Job Listings

I live outside of the U.S. and would like to work from home. Can you send me the listings for jobs in my country?
Each employer who posts a job with us will have their own policy on international hiring. Often, if a company does not do international hires they will state that in the listing, but not always.
What you should do is apply for any job that you are qualified for, and once contacted you can inquire on their policy.

Won't I have a better chance of getting a job if I just apply to every listing?
Absolutely not! In fact, this is one of the main reasons that many employers who do offer telecommute positions don't advertise them-- because when they do they are deluged with applications from people who aren't even remotely qualified for the position.

If an employer posts a listing for an experienced C++ programmer, and receives 12,000 resumes from people who have never done programming before, they are not going to post here again. This doesn't do you, or the employer any good. Please, please only apply to a job if you meet all of the requirements specified in the listing.

When I try to apply to a job, it says my email is not on file but I receive the weekly ezine from you-- so I must be in the system?
The Apply Online form is for those who have posted a resume with us. Being subscribed to The Job Listings Weekly is a separate thing from having a resume posted.

Keep in mind that it is not necessary to post a resume in order to apply for a job. In fact, most all employers include application instructions in their listings and do not use the online application function. Only when there is not contact information included in the listing should you use the Apply Online function.

To post a resume, visit the Job Seekers Area and click on Post Resume.

Do you offer notification service for new job listings?
Yes we do. You can subscribe to our Job Listings Weekly by clicking here. You'll be sent an email each week that has all the new job listings that were posted that week.

Do you research all of the jobs that are posted?
We do have systems in place that discourage most "scammers" such as requiring a valid phone number, credit card and other contact information. Also, since we charge employers to place a listing with us, most would-be scammers aren't willing to post here. Employers are required to disclose any fees right in their listing, so if you ever come across a listing that is charging a fee and they didn't include that in the job listing...Let Us Know!

Are there really any telecommute jobs out there, or are they all scams?
There absolutely are jobs out there! Most of the telecommute jobs I see fall into the following categories:

  • Sales
  • Programming
  • Web Design/Marketing
  • Highly specialized skills (Transcription, IT recruiting, editing, etc.)

If you have skills in an area that is in demand for telecommuting, then keep in mind that the competition is tremendously fierce. Make sure you have a fantastic resume and that you are selling yourself effectively.

You also need to be flexible. Assuming that you have a specialized skill, remember that most employers won't hire someone right off the street and allow them to telecommute. Many companies have a policy of having a new employee work a trial period on-site and then, once they've proven their abilities, allow them to telecommute.

If you don't feel that you are qualified in those areas, or another specialized area, then go out and get those skills! Your local community college is a good place to start. There are also many Online Courses.

I'm interested in the (fill in the blank) position. Can you send me more info?
No, I can't. 2Work-At-Home.com is not an employer, and we don't have any information on the listings that employers post with us. Every listing has specific contact instructions and that's who you need to contact to obtain details of a particular job.
