Question about MT

:)Hello Group,

I have a question about transcribing(there may be more later.) I read on a site that was offering medical transcription training that "one minute of dictation is equivalent to six minutes of transcription." For those of you that are transcriptionists, do you find that statement to be true once you actually start transcribing in reality?

I have not personally done any MT but I have researched it several times. I also have a friend who does it for a living in a Dr office. She says it is IMPOSSIBLE to learn how to properly do the coding from a 1 week online course. Most of them are expensive and give false promises. She went to a Vo-Tech school for a 6 month course and got a job fairly quickly. She says it IS hard and your statement is about right.
