By far, most of my traffic comes from the search engines so it's important that I maintain decent positioning for my keywords and phrases.

It's also important to me that I continue to attract new visitors and the search engines provide that for me.

SEO is not my only marketing focus....I do believe that posting articles, blogging, participating in forums, etc. are all very important components to the overall marketing effort. This strategy not only provides links from other sites to yours, but (perhaps more importantly) can help to establish your reputation (this assumes that you write something that's worth reading of course!) and mark you as an expert in your niche.

I agree with Sharon on all points. My main traffic also comes from search engines. Having good keywords and ranking well in SE will bring more traffic and more sales to you.

Most of my traffic comes from search engines as well...keywords are so important in your site description, your articles, blogs, etc..
