Hey, I think you new here, anyway ..
Search engine optimization is everything that can be done to make a search engine send more traffic to a web site.
Usually this means defining keywords or key phrases and trying to have your web site listed first (or at least near first) for those key terms.
Search engine optimization is usually divided into two categories of tasks:
· On-page optimization
· Off-page optimization
On-page optimization is designing your web pages to achieve the best ratings from the search engines.
On-page optimization activites include:
· Writing keyword-rich text
· Applying good ALT tags to images
· Making sure that the web page can be properly "spidered" by all of the search engines
· Off-page optimization consists of creating inbound links to your web page.
All the Best!!

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. I did a search to find a blog or site that explained SEO in simple terms. I found this blog http://www.searchengineguide.com/jim-hedger/seo-101-basic.php (nope never met the guy in my life LOL)

As a site owner, you want your page to show up in the number one or number two spot. In order to get there, you need to optimize your page/s

I would start by searching both SEO and SEO blogs and forums. If you spent about 15 - 20 min daily on these sites just learning about SEO and then spent 30 - 45 min trying the strategies you'll be surprised with the progress you'll make. If you don't have time for that then you'll need to hire someone to do the SEO for you. Good Luck!

You can start with onpage optimization. Then move to build backlinks from forums, blogs, directories and social bookmarking sites.

If you outsource for your writing, how do you go about finding a good SEO writer?
