How important is anchor text? I have a number of site mao style search engine helper pages that I would like to work on to increase my PR.

Will adding the headline and abstract of the article in to the anchor text help my page rank, or risk it considering the length og text within the link?

Has anyone ever heard of anchor text in a link being too long for search engines to consider valid?

Using your signature as the example, I did a Google search for the exact text you are using. I found two hits. That's it, two. And both were you. I then went to a keyword finder and no one is looking for this 4 word key phrase.

So, while I believe anchor text should be on piece of your overall SEO strategy, I also believe you really need to use phrases that you want associated with your site.

By the way, I did click your link and there's nothing there.

Hi,

Anchor text is most important factor in link building. Because anchor text is the targeted keyword on which you want your website in top ranking in SEs.

Just think what do you expecting visitors to type in search box to find your products/services? Or what will you search in Google to find your products? And, those would be your keywords. Use those keywords as anchor text wisely in link building.
