My name is Jen I work from home and I am trying to find ways to promote my free shopping network. Any idea's ? I have had quite a bit of luck with everyone I know because its an easy sell, mostly because I am not selling anything! The thing I am having trouble with is getting people that don't know me to take a look, mostly because they think I am trying to sell them something! The shopping network I am promoting gives you free rebates on virtually anything you buy and you get additional rebates on what people you get to sign up buy. From stores like Home Depot, BestBuy, Adidas, NY&co., tons more over 500. Any ideas on how to promte it would be greatly appreciated! Check out the link in my tag

Hi Jen

Welcome to the forum!

#1. You are selling something. When it comes to "selling" it can be selling a product, selling a service, selling a business oppty, etc.

So, you are selling something!

#2. You need to network your business online and your first couple of posts can't be spammy type of ads. Networking means taking the time out to get to know others and others getting to know you. Folks want to do business with folks they know or who they are in the process of getting to know.

#3. If you post spam ads, make sure they are in the appropriate folders.

#4. Don't sound desperate in your postings as that will turn people off.

Just 4 pieces of advice I am sharing with you.

Again, Welcome to the forum.

Hi Jen,

I know in another thread you asked about how to create a signature.

At the top, click on User CP
Under Settings & Options, click on Edit Signature
Put your business in the box
Click Save Signature

When you create a new thread or reply to posts, your signature will appear.

Shelly gave you some excellent advice on how to use forums to promote yourself. Your signature will do the work for you if you post with informative replies. People get turned off if you tell them to check out your links etc. Don't do that unless you're promoting in the Advertising forum.

You have already been given lots of great advice! My advice is:

Be consistent! - It is easy to visit forums and message boards, but not actually respond to threads. You feel like you are a part of the group, but if you aren't responding to threads others don't know you are there. Which leads me to ...

Build relationships! - Like Shelly said, don't just spam the networks. Participate in threads other than areas of your business. If you are interested in healthy eating or love to cook, participate on those boards.

The internet is a great tool! Have fun with it!

yes it is right dear.
We have to interact with each other to learn what we need & share what others need.
Spamming is real shame i don,t know why people do it.

Internet is a place to have fun & we have also a lot other stuff work to do on it.
It has provided us that platform.
We should use it properly.
there is no need of spamming.

Perhaps the most important -- and inexpensive -- strategy is to rank high for your preferred keywords on the main search engines in "organic" or "natural" searches (as opposed to paid ads). Search engines send robot "spiders" to index the content of your webpage, so let's begin with steps to prepare your webpages for optimal indexing. The idea here is not to trick the search engines, but to leave them abundant clues as to what your webpage is about. This approach is called "search engine optimization," abbreviated as SEO.
