I don't want to repeat myself but in another thread I posted a traffic strategy using the popular Social Bookmarking site StumbleUpon

Here is the thread

I think that as a community we can all see some traffic from this strategy

Hi John,

Welcome to the forums. Stirls has written many terrific articles on this topic, check him out at ezinearticles.com (http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Chris_Stirling). Also, a great blog for link building strategies is Peter Lee's blog (http://www.peterleehc.com/blog/). He's got some really useful information over there.

Thanks for the link Sharon

John - There is a lot of information out there on how to build links. I must warn you that not all of it is good or correct. Peter Lee's Blog is a good place to start. A very simple way to build up good quality links is to write good articles and post them on sites like ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com, participate in forums such as this one, and create pages on large networks like on hubpages.com and squidoo.com wordpress.com and post comments on blogs that are talking about your topic. If you do those steps every day then you will quickly have some good high powered links pointing to your site

As far as link building goes, here is a good technique: focus on one keyword phrase at a time. Type that keyword phrase into google search. Find the URL of the number one organic result (Not the top one or two adwords ads). Take the URL of this top website listed for your keyword phrase and paste it into yahoo search with the phrase "linkdomain:" in front of the URL. Let's say http://business.com came up first in the organic search results. You would paste linkdomain:http://business.com into the yahoo search box. Hit your enter key and yahoo will display all of that websites backlinks, in order of importance. So, now you know what websites to go to to get backlinks from in order of importance. No guessing. Just copy what the best internet marketers are doing to get top results. I hope this helps. If not, you can contact me through my website to get answers.

Absolutley - Yahoo Answers is a great place to get links and traffic from. The key to using Yahoo Answers is to not post blatant ads. You want to search for questions that relate to your topic that you are promoting, then provide a top quality answer that helps the person who asked the question - your goal should be to be rewarded with the top answer. At the end of your answer you can source your site a your reference.

When done right Yahoo Answers can provide a ton of high quality traffic to your site!

Thanks Sharon - yes I am over the jet lag but not caught up on my emails/forum posts - it is amazing how much happens online in 16 days! Not complaining because it is always nice to go on a vacation and come home to cheques in the mail and commission emails!
