One way to increase your chances of working at home is to be open to making some sacrifices.* Rather than focusing on finding the perfect work at home job, think about changes you could make to widen the net.Take a pay cut.A recent Citrix Online report on “the World Wide Workplace” cited a forecast from [...]http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?d=yIl2AUoC8zA (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:yIl2AUoC8zA) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?d=qj6IDK7rITs (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:qj6IDK7rITs) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?d=l6gmwiTKsz0 (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:l6gmwiTKsz0) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?d=TzevzKxY174 (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:TzevzKxY174) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?d=7Q72WNTAKBA (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:7Q72WNTAKBA) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?i=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:V_sGLiPBpWU (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:V_sGLiPBpWU) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?i=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:gIN9vFwOqvQ (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:gIN9vFwOqvQ) http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?i=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:D7DqB2pKExk (http://feeds2.feedburner.com/~ff/2work-at-home/xRDS?a=OwydHUQJ4Us:UaSVEcuX4_w:D7DqB2pKExk)

I am willing to stay up late to earn extra income and have a share and say on the household expenses and be able to have a feeling of deep sense of self-worth and fulfillment. :)

I can relate to that maeleine! In fact that's exactly what I did when I first started this site 10 years ago. I would work during the night so that I could still spend the day with my girls.

And you're right, it's not just about earning money.....I felt like I needed to be able to contribute financially but it was also about having a professional life as well.

A recent Citrix Online report on “the World Wide Workplace” cited a forecast from Forrester Research that about 20 percent of employees would take a 5 percent pay cut for the right to work from home sometimes. Some companies have telecommute policies that specify that employees who work from home will be paid less than their in-house counterparts.

Some people balk at the idea of a pay cut, but if you put pen to paper you might find that you end up ahead anyway considering the loss of commute, the need for professional clothing/dry cleaning, lunches out and perhaps even childcare costs.

Hi Thee,

I did respond to one of your other posts, but it would be easier to give you advice if you would be more specific about what you're looking for.

Are you looking for a job, or a home business? What are your skills and experience? What type of work do you feel you are qualified to do?

Hi Thee,

You definitely have experience in areas where there are telecommute jobs. Take a look at some of the companies that hire home based reps (http://www.2work-at-home.com/customer-service-jobs.shtml) and the job listings (http://www.2work-at-home.com/forwardsql/applicants_index.shtml) at my site.

A couple of good places to look for software and technical jobs are Dice (http://dice.com) and Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org). I see many software testing jobs at both places.
