I hope this is the right place....
Anyway, I am looking for a homebusiness that I can do online as well as offline. I'm not crazy about calling people and trying to get them to sign up, I've tried that and had no success, ended up in more debt the anything. If it has to do with sell a product (s), then I don't have a problem with using them so I can get familiar with them. I have researched a few online typist jobs and all of them want you to pay alot to get started. I have 3 kids and my husband is the only one working, I can't afford a high start up cost, if any. I am fairly new to this and I don't want to get in over my head or get into something that will put me behind. I know that you have to work a business to make it successful and I'm not looking to get rich quick, just something that will help out around the house and so I can stay home with my kids and not miss anymore with them then I have to. If you have any suggestions you may emal them to me. Untl then I will contiue to browse the forums til I find something. Thank you for your time and God bless.

Hi,
If you think you may want to start a home business, but need help figuring out what it is you want to do, I wrote an article a while back that may help you to brainstorm ideas:
http://www.2work-at-home.com/articles/finding.shtml (http://www.2work-at-home.com/forums/../articles/finding.shtml)
The key is to find something that you feel passionate about-- this article has some exercises that can help clarify your strengths and goals.
Also, I do have recommendations for a companies that offer excellent home business opps that I have dealt with personally:
http://www.2work-at-home.com/opps.shtml (http://www.2work-at-home.com/forums/../opps.shtml)
And 100's of ideas for home businesses:
http://www.2work-at-home.com/ideas.shtml (http://www.2work-at-home.com/forums/../ideas.shtml)
There are also several members of the forums that run successful home businesses....pick their brains! I'm sure they'll be happy to give you the inside scoop on their home businesses, what it takes, what a typical day is like, what the costs are, etc.
I hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you!

I second what Sharon said about finding what you're passionate about and research the companies. Also read the company's vision and mission statement. Is it similar to yours? You're looking for the right fit for you.
Good luck in your search. :)

There is a little excercise I learned to do to find out what your passionate about. It came from an investing book written by Phil Town called Rule #1!
Your going to make three separate lists...
1. What do you love to do?(Passion)
Just make a list of things you personally enjoy doing. For example Reading, Movies, Travel, Animals
2.What am I good at?(Talent)
Here you're just going to make a list of things you feel you are good at. What do you feel you talents are???
3.Where do I earn/spend money?
Here just list what you do to earn money now and where do you spend your money(what things do you enjoy spending your money on)
The final step is just taking a look at all of your lists and look for things you have repeated in all three. There's usually one or two. :)
Then do some research on these topics and see if there's a biz opp that matches your passion!!!
Good Luck!

Hi,
Thank you everyone for sharing this useful information.
Starting a business without a plan is like going on a journey without a map. If you have a map, you are sure to get into your destination faster because you will know what to ride and what way you should be trudging on. Without a business plan, you will not know what, where and how to travel in order to get into your destination which is the success of your home business. Without a map, you have no clear direction of where you are going and it is likely that you will reach the dead end.
Business plan will also help you reflect on what else you must do to improve your business. If you have trouble in making business plan, you can browse the internet and find a site that will help you create the best business plan for your home business.
Hi Michael
Welcome to the forum.
Would you please stop by the introduction folder and post an introduction so that we can get to know you?

Welcome to the forums! Good luck with finding the right business for you. If you do decide to go the direct sales route find a product and company that you believe in 100%. If you believe in it, it will sell easier. If it isn't something you believe in then you will have a hard time passing it on to you friends, family and others. I hope you find something quickly. :)

Starting something from home always has much less overhead and the convenience of working the hours you want to work. You can also start part-time while keeping your income from a job while you build it up. In addition to the overhead, a brick and mortar business requires that you or someone staff it during set business hours. Feel free to contact me if you'd like more ideas.

What skills/background do you have? You may want to take that into account. For example, I see a lot of at home positions that are customer service related. Do you have any experience dealing with customers? If so, that's one skill you really want to highlight.
Good luck and hope you find something very very soon.
